My iPod
I've been having trouble with it. Apple's website tells you when it won't come on to reset it. I've had to do that nearly each time I attempt to use it. That hasn't even been working. My screen will just illuminate in solid white and do nothing. Since it has been over 30 days since I purchased it and I bought no extended service plan, I had to go through Apple about having it fixed. They were very good about getting it taken care of promptly. Tuesday evening is when I requested a repair order. I received the packaging yesterday and DHL is picking it up today! There's no telling what's wrong with it, other than the fact that it is manufactured in China. I wonder where the Creative Labs MP3 players are made?
Big brown Mercedes sedan
"Glamorous Life"
She wears a long fur coat of mink
Even in the summertime
Everybody knows from the coy little wink
The girl's got a lot on her mind
She's got big thoughts, big dreams
And a big brown Mercedes sedan
What I think this girl, she really wants Is to be in love with a man
She wants to lead the glamorous life
She don't need a man's touch
She wants to lead the glamorous life
Without love, it ain't much
She saw him standing in the section marked "If you have to ask, you can't afford it" lingerie
She threw him bread and said "Make me scream"
In the dark, what could he say
Boys with small talk and small minds
Really don't impress me in bed
She said I need a man's man baby, diamonds and furs
Love would only conquer my head
She wants to lead the glamorous life
She don't need a man's touch
She wants to lead the glamorous life
Without love, it ain't much
They made haste in the brown sedan
They drove 2 55 Secret Street
They made love and by the 7th wave
She knew she had a problem
She thought real love is real scary
Money only pays the rent
Love is for ever and that's all your life
Love is heaven sent - it's glamorous
Lead the glamorous life
She don't need a man's touch
She's want to lead the glamorous life
Without love, it ain't much
I had this song in my head this morning so I looked up the lyrics. I thought they were pretty funny to say the least. I really like how "they made haste in the brown sedan!"
Mary, Mary, why you buggin'?

Burning Man

Isn't it funny how you go to a website, not even thinking about or looking for something that you end up discovering and it puts a smile on your face or makes you feel fuzzy? Well, today I went to youtube. Somehow I came upon a Concrete Blonde video. The person who posted it even posted a few bits of current information about Johnette Napolitano, the best underrated female singer! I discovered she has a myspace account! I read her blog and I sent her a message. I got one back tonight. That's awesome. I recently emailed Iggy Pop on there and he replied as well. I know both of these profiles are authentic. Anyway, Johnette blogged about Burning Man. I've been sitting here reading about it and it does sound very unique. I'm interested. I looked at photos and there is some awesome artwork and photography. I don't see how people bring all the materials they need, along with all the supplies needed to camp for a week. I'd like to know how many people from the east coast attend this. It would be so expensive to get there by plane and buy everything you need there. I'm sure it'd be equally expensive to drive all the way in a car or RV. I'd love to go in a nice RV. You're just not allowed to leave anything behind! So many obstacles!

Anxious
When I signed on AOL ysterday I found out something exciting. Aerosmith & Motley are doing a fall tour! My fingers raced to Motley's website to see if tickets were on sale yet. They're not. They're not even listed past Oct. 6th. The show I want to go to is Oct. 19th in Nashville. I have no idea when they will be available so I guess I am going to be stuck checking their site every morning so I don't miss out. Damn. I love Aerosmith and I'm sure they put on a great show, but we all know who I'm really going to see!

We Are Family

I've had a wonderful weekend. My closest members of my family came out today. We've had a house full of kids. The Whitworths even brought MG! Time in the pool, grilling out, lawn tractor rides, and now Hannah's got my Mom, Brad, and Sarah watching "The High School Musical." Bri's asleep on Troy. He's out too. My guess is that Brad and I outlast this clan. This is truly the best way I could've spent my last weekend without deadlines for eleven weeks. There may be pics to come or briefings on youtube. Speaking of youtube, someone's got a 50th birthday coming up. A music video is in the works for this ceremony.

Woke Up To Good News!
I got up this morning and I had finally received something in the mail from Sullivan. I didn't know if it was going to have me in a bad mood all day or not. I knew it needed to be opened. I took 16 hours this last quarter. I thought for sure I had failed a course. Imagine my surprise when I open this "report card." The class I thought I failed, Small Business Management, I got a C in! I got two C's and 2 B's! I'm very much thrilled. I don't have to go sit in a classroom and retake a course. I don't have to add another large chunk of change to my student loan for another class!

Ignorant parent
I hope I can still hear okay. I just had a woman come in here with a little boy. She let's him bring a whistle in here and blow on it the whole time she's trying to talk to me. They go outside with my dad to look at the car. He takes his whistle and beats on the car with it, runs around the parking lot, and of course, comes back in here and blows some more on the damn whistle. The mother may have told him to stop once. No wonder there's so much behavior trouble in schools. It starts with parenting. I doubt my Mom would have let me bring a whistle in a store or a place of business and be so disruptive. I feel like my ears are going to start bleeding any minute now. I bet that's why she backed into a telephone pole. She also asked if we had a payment plan for her $500 deductible. In the words of another ignorant customer, "Story of my life."

Weight loss, Ann Coulter, and Karl Rove
Ann's thin. Karl's fat. They both suck. www.whitehouse.org is great.
For weeks now I think I have done well with watching what I eat, or how much I eat. I don't like much that's healthy. I take mass quantities of vitamins and supplements. I rarely have a Coke. I'm mostly about unsweetened iced tea and water when I'm not throwing back Molson Ices and Lowenbrau darks. I've made up my mind after last night that I am stocking up on diet pills. I may even join a pro-ana site. Not really. I'm going to be a jittery time bomb! I'll make your life a living hellllll. Out of the top 30 highest ranking diet pills, I am going to try Hot Rox.

Woman Cited for Exposing Herself in Store
CEDAR CITY, Utah (June 10) - A 28-year-old woman has been cited for lewdness for exposing herself inside a store. The woman was riding a motorized cart inside Lin's Market Place on Thursday with her pants around her ankles and not wearing underwear.
Customers didn't notice the woman until she would stand up from the cart and bend over to look at items on the shelf, exposing her buttocks.
The woman told police she arrived in Cedar City with a circus but was left behind.

Summer drinks to try
Mimosa (1:1 champagne and orange juice): At 130 calories, this traditional morning libation won't wreak havoc on your waistline. "And you'll get 100 percent of your vitamin C requirement from the orange juice," says Gidus.Wine Spritzer: With 3 ounces of wine and 3 ounces of club soda, wine spritzers top out at about 60 calories and zero grams of fat.Sangria: The combination of wine, fruit juice, club soda and fresh fruit makes for a low-cal, refreshing drink, about 80 calories.Bloody Mary: A standard-size cocktail adds up to about 120 calories and you get a serving of vegetables to boot.Wine: The typical 5-ounce glass weighs in at 125 calories. Opt for red and you'll get a healthy dose of disease-fighting chemicals called flavonols, too.
Summer drinks to avoid
Five Drinks to AvoidDaiquiri: With 4 ounces of mix and 1 ounce of liquor, a daiquiri weighs in at 305 calories -- almost all sugar! "A lot of these drinks are served in very large quantities (12 to 16 ounces)," says Gidus. Your 300-calorie drink can boast up to 800 calories. Long Island Iced Tea: Using TGIFriday's mixer and a 12-ounce serving adds 520 calories to your daily intake. Pina Colada: A 5-ounce glass nets 245 calories. Super-size it to 10 ounces and it's 490 calories. Mixers: Just 1.5 ounces of 80-proof spirits is 65 calories. Add 6 ounces of calorie-laden soda or syrups and you're well over the calorie count for a "light" drink. Bartles & James Wine Cooler: This seemingly harmless sparkling concoction sports 230 calories per 12-ounce bottle. Not slimming.

1 down, 3 to go
This week I have finals. I spent most of today working on my final for Excel. It isn't due until Tuesday, but I'm trying not to procrastinate these things. I haven't turned it in yet. I'm waiting to see who all I can find to look it over and make sure everything's perfect. I think I'll have a week free of school work after this before I start my next three classes.

What a long, strange trip its been
