There's too much confusion. I can't get no relief.
For two weeks now I've had headaches (usually in the back of my head) daily. They've made me feel dizzy and out of it. I've vomited several times this week. I had been having headaches off an on since the wreck. If they didn't improve my doctor was going to send me to a neurologist. He wanted to see me back on November 3rd. I couldn't wait the long. Imagine my surprise Tuesday when he didn't mention sending me to a neurologist, just prescribing me another drug.
I get to Walgreens and the guy I went to school with tells me that my insurance company needs authorization on this drug. He tried calling but they're already gone for the day. Apparently they needed my doctor to call or fax them, explaining why he prescribed me this. I called him. I don't know if he ever did that or not, but I was tired of waiting so Friday I called Walgreens and told them to fill it. I figured I'd go ahead and charge it and get reimbursed $135 sometime later. This is a once a day medicine to PREVENT migraines. There's tons of side effects. He's also prescribed me promethazine for the nausea. It has tons of side effects and says to be sure to let your doctor know what other meds you're taking. Do doctors even pay attention to what they prescribe anymore or is it all just a money thing for the drug companies and lobbyists? Both of these drugs have yet to help me and I've gotten sick three times tonight.
I missed this week of school and last week's Public Speaking. I have a test due tomorrow at 6 p.m. I emailed my Business Law professor Tuesday at 1:00 with a confirmation receipt. He still hasn't checked his email! There was going to be a sub that night, but he was giving out a review for the test this Tuesday. I had asked if he could email or mail me the review and told him I would have a doctor's note. I've missed eight hours of Public Speaking already. I'm really stressed out over this and the fact that I'm not getting any relief or responses! At least my Public Speaking professor wrote back and said he would pass my info along to someone else. He said if this keeps up I may want to seek a medical withdrawal for this quarter. I hope everyone else out there is having a better weekend!
